If you think you’re very busy, imagine yourself as a child for a moment: a busy school schedule, sports, homework, family time – and at the same time, every day you’re learning to take care of yourself and facing lots of new things.
One of the most important parts of self-care is brushing your teeth. Getting your child used to brushing twice a day for 2 minutes each time isn’t easy, but a little creativity will go a long way in keeping your children’s mouths healthy.
Set aside 4 minutes for fun

Just setting a timer and supervising isn’t enough – turn brushing twice a day for 2 minutes into a fun event! Put on your child’s favorite song and throw a 4-minute dance party; videos or toothbrushing apps will also help the time fly. Do your best to make these 2 minutes fun and interesting.
Reward well-brushed teeth

What motivates your child? For example, if it’s stickers, let them take one after each brushing; if they love reading, let them choose their own bedtime book. Sometimes just a big smile and the words “I’m so proud of you” are enough.
Characters count too

Who is your child’s favorite character? Many children’s books and shows have stories about brushing teeth. Watch and read them together, because when it’s time to brush, you can use the characters as a good example.
Make up stories
Can’t find a story or character for your child? Make up your own. Your child could be the only superhero who can defeat the bad creatures that cause caries!
Go shopping together

Let your child choose their own toothbrush and toothpaste. A toothbrush with a favorite character makes brushing even more fun. There is a wide choice of fluoride toothpastes in different colors and flavors.
Make brushing a family event

Children learn from you, so set a good example. A family that brushes their teeth together has even more reasons to smile.
